At Phalada Agro, we source all our produce from a dedicated network of farmers spread across various geographical regions of India. Our approach to sourcing emphasizes sustainable farming practices and optimizing resource utilization to enhance the income opportunities for our farmers, rather than merely expanding the number of participants in our program.
Farmer Network
We work with a close-knit network of around 1851 farmers, covering approximately 9000 acres of cultivable farmland. Our farmers are spread across six geographical states of India, each offering unique climatic and soil conditions, allowing us to cultivate a diverse range of products. We collaborate with a mix of small, medium, and large holding farmers, tailoring our support based on the crops and regional characteristics.
Field Officers
Our strong team of field officers plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of our sourcing process. Their responsibilities include:
- Monitoring Farms: Regular visits to ensure that farming practices align with our organic standards.
- Providing Support and Guidance: Offering expert advice and assistance to farmers on soil conditions, seed selection, and input usage.
- Tracking Farm Activities: Keeping detailed records of all activities at the farm-gate, including soil health, seeds and inputs used, harvest details, and output quality.
- Ensuring Compliance: Verifying that all farming practices meet our stringent organic certification requirements.
By maintaining close relationships with our farmers and providing continuous support through our field officers, we ensure that our sourcing process remains transparent, efficient, and aligned with our commitment to organic agriculture.
Certification
Certification is a key aspect of our supply chain. All our farm projects and processing units are certified for Indian (NPOP) and International (NOP,EU Bio) Organic Food Standards. Additionally, some of our projects hold certifications from Fair for Life, Demeter, Naturland, and Naturland Fair, reflecting our commitment to the highest organic and ethical standards.
